If you are fed up with eBooks with DRM protection, you can buy your digital books in certain online shops without the protection. We present the two best sides to you.
Buy eBooks online without DRM - the best websites
DRM-free eBooks can be read on almost every eBook reader. If you are using a Kindle, you must first convert the eBooks into MOBI format.
- Unfortunately there are relatively few websites where you can only get DRM-free eBooks. The authors and rights holders of current books mostly insist on DRM protection for copyright reasons.
- On the EpubBuy.com website you will find thousands of eBooks at the usual prices. All eBooks are downloaded in EPUB format and are therefore free of DRM. With the appropriate Firefox plugin EPUBReader you can read the eBooks directly in the browser.
- You can also find thousands of eBooks without DRM protection on the Beam-eBooks.de website. These are usually available as EPUB, PDF or in Mobipocket format. You can pay by credit card, direct debit, bank transfer and Paypal.
You must not remove the DRM protection from purchased eBooks
- If the selection of the two online shops is not large enough for you, you only have the large providers with DRM-protected eBooks.
- However, you may not remove the DRM protection from these books. We will explain the legal background to this in another article.
