Eclipse: increase RAM - how it works
Frequent crashes in the development environment Eclipse is often due to insufficient memory. In this practical tip, we explain how to increase the RAM memory for Eclipse.
Increase memory: Edit eclipse.ini file
- Go to the location of your Eclipse software.
- There is the "eclipse.ini file" in the top eclipse folder
- Click on the file and change the RAM number behind "--launcher.XXMaxPermSize".
- In addition, increase the number of RAM at the bottom, for example "-Xmx512m".
- Assigned 1024MB or 2056MB Ram are recommended for Eclipse to avoid frequent crashes of the Eclipse development environment in complex projects.
