The Eclipse development environment has now been translated into all languages. This practical tip explains how you can switch your Eclipse software to German.
Change Eclipse to German - how it works
Before you can switch the tool to German, you have to install the current version of Eclipse on your computer. Warning: If you are using an older version (e.g. Mars, Luna or Kepler), this can lead to the program no longer being executed correctly.
- Go to "Help" in the Eclipse menu bar and select "Install new software".
- Click on the "Add" button. Enter any name under Name.
- Now enter the following link under Location "//download.eclipse.org/technology/babel/update-site/R0.14.1/neon" (without quotation marks).
- Click OK". It now appears in the display area "Pending". Wait until all language packs are found.
- Now mark "Babel Language Packs in German" if you want to switch Eclipse to German. Other languages are also available.
- It continues with "Next" and again "Next". Then accept the license agreement and confirm with "Finish".
- The software will now be installed. You may receive warnings during the installation ("unsigned content"). Confirm this with "OK".
- Finally, you will be asked to restart Eclipse. Click on "Yes". Eclipse is now available in German.
