Sometimes autocomplete may be disabled in Eclipse or may not work properly.
- Click the "Window" tab in Eclipse.
- Then select "Preferences" from the drop-down list.
- Then expand the submenu of "Java", "Editor" and "Content Assist".
- Deactivate "API Tools Proposals" and "Basic Proposals" here.
- Activate "Java Non-Type Proposals" and "Java Proposals" instead.
- Finally, deactivate "JAX-WS Proposals", "JAXB Proposals" and "JPA Proposals".
- With a click on "OK" the settings are saved. Now you can use Autocomplete again.
