Keyboard shortcuts for Java programming and more
You can program even faster in Eclipse if you know the correct keyboard shortcuts. We present the most helpful:
- To quickly create new projects, use [CTRL] + [N] to open the project wizard, or [CTRL] + [ALT] + [N] to select a class directly.
- The editor also has some shortcuts. With [F12] you jump directly into the editor window. To switch between several windows, use [CTRL] + [arrow up / arrow down].
- The shortcut [CTRL] + [Q] helps you to orient yourself in the editor. This jumps to the last position that was changed.
- When your source code is ready, use [CTRL] + [F11] to save it and then start it. With [F11] you call the debug function of Eclipse.
- Incidentally, you can edit your text in the editor as in other text editing programs. With [CTRL] + [C] you copy text and paste it again with [CTRL] + [V]. Press CTRL + A to select all of your text.
