Remove eDellRoot - Here's how

Automatically remove eDellRoot with this Dell tool
Dell has released a tool for its customers that can be used to remove the potentially harmful eDellRoot certificate.
- Go to the official Dell website and scroll down a bit.
- Click "Edellroot and Remove the DSDTestProvider Tool" and download the file.
- Start the tool.
- If available, the certificate will be automatically removed from your computer.
Remove eDellRoot manually - step by step
You can also remove eDellRoot manually:
- Right-click on the taskbar and select "Task Manager". Then click on "Services".
- In the window below, click "Open Services". Select "Dell Foundation Services" in the list and click on "End Service" in the top left corner.
- Now open your Explorer and navigate to the following path: "C: \ Program Files \ Dell \ Dell Foundation Services". There, delete the "Dell.Foundation.Agent.Plugins.eDell.dll" file. Now click on "Continue" to permanently delete the file.
- Tap the Windows key and type "certmgr.msc". Open the program found. At this point, click on "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" on the left and double-click on the "Certificates" folder.
- Mark the certificate "eDellRoot" in the list. Click the red X symbol in the menu bar of the window. Confirm the removal with the "Yes" button.
- Now go back to "Services" in the Task Manager and there again at the bottom to "Open Services". Click on "Dell Foundation Services" and then on "Start Service" in the top left. The certificate has now disappeared from your computer.
