Prepare an egg in the microwave: Here's how
Preparing egg in the microwave sounds easy at first. However, there are some very important factors to consider.
Egg in the microwave: 5 tips
When preparing, note the following:
- Matching key: Use a key that is suitable for microwaves. Choose a deep bowl so that the eggs can be covered by water.
- Lay the eggs side by side and not on top of each other.
- The eggs should be completely covered with water. The water can leak when boiling. Therefore, be careful not to fill the entire bowl with water.
- Add ½ teaspoon of salt for each egg.
- Each microwave has its own setting, so you will probably need a test run before you can be sure how much time the eggs really take.
- Warning - incorrect preparation can cause the egg to explode due to the high temperature of the microwave!
How to cook hard eggs
Cooking can take an average of 3 to 12 minutes.
- If you add cold water to the eggs, put them in the microwave for 12 minutes at medium power.
- If you have added boiled or hot water, it will take between 3-6 minutes at high power to cook the eggs.
- When the eggs are cooked, carefully remove the key with a suitable oven glove and let it cool.
- Wait 2-3 minutes before taking the eggs out of the water. Otherwise they can explode in your hand!
