An unmade bed is healthier: why you shouldn't make your bed in the morning
Order is half life - but not always an advantage. In this article, we will tell you why an unmade bed is much healthier, for example.
That is why an unmade bed is healthier for you
Dust mites are everywhere in the house. The small arachnids make life particularly difficult for allergy sufferers. Itchy eyes and runny nose are just two signs of a dust mite allergy.
- Dust mites love moisture and feed on dander. The small animals will find both conditions in optimal form in our beds. Therefore, they can reproduce particularly strongly there.
- So if you follow your sense of order and make your beds in the morning, you will preserve the living conditions for the mites. The moisture cannot escape. This allows the animals to reproduce unhindered.
- During sleep we breathe in the mite's excretion. These are responsible for triggering a house dust mite allergy with asthma-like symptoms. The greater the mite infestation, the higher the allergy potential and the more violent the symptoms.
- So leave your bed unmade. Fold back the duvet or take it outside to ventilate. This removes moisture from the bedspread and mattress and makes it difficult for the mites. They dehydrate and can even die.
- You should also wash your duvet covers regularly, preferably once a week at at least 60 degrees Celsius. The mattresses should also be cleaned regularly.
