Shopping on Ebay in England (ebay.co.uk) - you have to keep that in mind
There are a few things you need to be aware of when shopping on eBay in England. Because despite "worldwide shipping" you may not be able to bid as a non-Brit. Here's how to get the Ebay UK product you want.
Create an English eBay account
The first thing you need is an English eBay account. To do this, go to eBay's English website and register as follows.
- Click on "Register" in the top left (see graphic).
- Fill out the form completely and click on "Submit".
- If you now have to enter an address, you can either invent one or use, for example, that of the "London City Hotel".
- After you have created the account, log in to eBay.
Add real delivery address to eBay account
You can add a new primary delivery address to your English eBay account. So the seller knows where to send the product. However, it is advisable to give the seller the full address again in the event of a successful purchase in a private message.
- After you have logged in, move the mouse over your name in the top left corner and click on "Account settings" in the dropdown box (see graphic).
- In the left column click on "Addresses" and then immediately on "View all postal addresses".
- Enter your real delivery address in the form below and save it with a click on "Add New Address". Mark the checkbox "Make this my default delivery address" beforehand.
Clarify shipping with seller
Before you bid on the offer, you should clarify the shipping with the seller. Let them know that you are not resident in England and ask if they really will send the goods to your home. This will help you to avoid misunderstandings at an early stage.
- By the way: You can also use your current PayPal account on the English eBay page.
