Design your own invitation cards for your 50th birthday - how it works
With Microsoft Word you can design invitation cards for your 50th birthday yourself. In this practical tip, we will show you step by step how this works.
How to create a 50th birthday invitation card
If you still need the right invitation cards for your birthday party, you can easily design them yourself. For this you need Microsoft Word. We use Word 2007 for illustration purposes. However, you can also use other software that works in a similar way.
- Start Microsoft Word and move the cursor to the Microsoft button at the top left. Click on it and select "New".
- Now enter "invitation", "birthday" or similar terms in the search field. You will quickly find some templates and you can find more templates under "Event" on the left margin. For more choices, download our free Word birthday templates.

Design your 50th birthday invitation card as you wish
Once you have selected the right card for you from the templates, you can start designing it.
- First of all you should change all points, including your name, the date and time as well as the journey to the celebration. If you wish, you can also provide information about the cloakroom and determine whether someone should bring something with them.
- For changes of any kind, simply click on the desired part of the map and change it accordingly. Word makes these changes even if the map is across.
- With a click on the picture this can be exchanged. You can upload a photo of yourself here or insert another motif from the database. The position can also be changed. You can also add other elements.
- Also think about the second page, if it exists, and help shape it.
Print out the homemade birthday invitation
If the invitation is for your 50th birthday, you can simply print it out. It is best to use thick paper for this, so that the invitation is a card.
- Start printing the first page.
- Put the printed sheet back in the printer so that you can print on the back.
- Now print out the second page.
- Then fold the card to create an invitation card.
- You can then put them in an envelope and give them away.
