El Capitan: Use split screen on Mac
Apple has introduced a new feature in the current OS X El Capitan: Using the split screen - also called split view - you can display two apps side by side on your Mac. We show how you can use the function very easily.

What was possible for a long time under Windows now also works on Mac: You can automatically arrange two open windows so that they each fill half of the screen. This greatly simplifies multitasking.
- To get to the split-screen view, first open the two apps that you want to display side by side.
- In one of the windows, click the green full-screen button in the top left. Hold the mouse down for a moment.
- You can drag the window onto the right or left half of the screen with the mouse. Release the mouse button to place it in one of the two halves.
- On the other half you will now see a miniature view of the remaining open apps. Click here on the window that is to be displayed in the second half of the screen.
