Vessel types in Elite Dangerous
There are basically five types of ships in the game Elite Dangerous: merchant ships, exploration ships, combat ships, all-rounders and passenger ships.
- While merchant ships can transport a large amount of goods and are also suitable for mining, unlike warships, they have almost no armament.
- Exploration ships can jump farther than all other types of ship, but they also have less armor.
- Passenger ships are suitable for the transport of goods as well as for passenger missions.
- In addition, there are also the hunters, which are only available for larger ships with a hangar.
