Magpie: renewing the certificate - a guide
To continue using the Elster programs, you must renew your certificate. We show you how to do this in this guide.
Instructions: How to renew your Elster certificate
With Elster you can submit your tax returns and pre-registrations. To do this, however, you sometimes need a certificate. Here's how you can extend this after the expiration:
- Log in to the Elster portal with your old certificate and PIN.
- You will then receive a message that your certificate has expired. Read this notice and then click on "Renew Certificate".
- The next step is to upload the old certificate again and enter your PIN. You must also name the new certificate. Click on "Save extended certificate" to download the new certificate.
- You will be redirected to the login page. Enter the new certificate and your PIN here to log in again and activate the certificate.
- In the customer area you will find an overview with the new certificate. Make sure that this is correctly specified under "Account". If so, your certificate has been successfully renewed.
- You should now delete your old certificate from your PC so that there is no confusion.
