Change email address at Telekom - What should I watch out for?
It is easy to change your email address at Telekom or T-Online. However, you should first consider whether you have used your previous email address for important purposes - otherwise emails addressed to this account will be ineffective in the future.
Change Telekom's email address step by step
Log on to www.t-online.de with your username and password.
- Now click on "Customer Center" in the login area.
- Select »Services and subscriptions« and finally »E-Mail«.
- With a click on »All E-Mail Settings« and »Change« you can now create a new address.
Change the email address carefully
When changing the email address, be sure to let your contacts know the new email address. Activate the checkmark in front of the message "I do not want my old email address to be blocked for 90 days but to be available again immediately" only if you are really sure that you no longer receive important emails get this address.
- If you activate the box, every user who creates a new email address after changing their email address will have the opportunity to save their old email address. It is advisable not to activate the check mark so that you still have enough time to share your new email address with all important contacts. Your previous email address can then only be created again after 90 days.
- If you tick the box and do not inform all of your contacts about your new email address, emails sent to you may end up with another recipient if the recipient saves your old email address.
- Confirm your new email address with the "save" button.
- You can immediately access your newly created email address.
