On mobile devices with Windows 8, it makes sense to change the energy saving plan for the respective need. How this works and where to find the energy options under the latest MS operating system can be found in this practical tip.
Find and change the energy saving plan
If you want to change the energy saving plan, you first have to find it. The easiest way to do this is via the Charm Bar:
- Use the Windows + W key combination to open the Charm Bar to search for settings.
- Type in the search bar the keyword "energy" - a number of options will appear, under which you will find the item "edit energy saving plan".
- You will now see the energy saving plan settings, in which you can regulate when the screen dims or switches off and how much time should pass before standby.
Adjust energy options
You can find preset energy saving plans under the energy options. You can also reach these via the Charm Bar:
- Type the keyword "energy" into the Charm Bar again. How to open it can be found above in the practical tip.
- This time select the "Power Options". In these you can choose between balanced and highest performance or set other energy saving plans.
If you do not use a desktop PC, you can change the energy saving plan with just a few clicks in the task bar. To do this, simply click on the charge bar of your battery to make quick settings.
