Players offline in the Epic Games Launcher: Solution
The Epic Games Launcher is more likely to cause problems that drive Fortnite gamers to the heat. One of these problems is a displayed offline status even though players are online. The result: you cannot start matches in Fortnite or Unreal Tournament with this person, even though she is actually online. In this case, do the following:
- Close the Epic Games Launcher on your PC completely.
- Open the Network and Sharing Center under Windows via the path Control Panel> "Network and Internet"> "Network and Sharing Center". There, select the item "Change adapter settings" (see picture).
- Now right-click on the network you are using and select the "Properties" entry. You may have to confirm the administrator rights for this.
- In the properties, select the option "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4)". Now click on the properties of the Internet protocol and select "Use the following DNS server addresses".
- Enter the number combination "1.1.1.1" without quotes in the "Preferred DNS server" field. In the "Alternative DNS server" field, type "1.0.0.1" without quotation marks.
- Confirm these entries and close the window.
- Now you can start the Epic Games Launcher and the problem should be solved.
- Note: If the problem persists, restart your computer and run the launcher as an administrator.
