Epson printers don't print black - you can do that
Black is the most commonly used color in a printer. If your Epson printer no longer prints black, it is almost unusable. In this practical tip, we will tell you what you can do to make your printer print as usual.
Epson printers no longer print black: solutions
You can often solve this problem in a jiffy, so that your printer can print correctly again:
- The ink cartridge may be clogged and black ink cannot be printed. Therefore, first carry out a self-cleaning process for the printer - You will find more information on this in the operating instructions. For stylus models of the SX200 series, this is explained, for example, in this manual from p. 27. The relevant instructions for your printer can be found on the manufacturer's support page.
- Therefore, remove the cartridge and carefully prick the nozzle with a pointed object (such as a toothpick) to remove any paint.
- You can then thoroughly clean the nozzle again with a damp kitchen towel.
- Then dedicate yourself to the holder in the printer. You have to carefully clean these with a cotton swab, since there are very sensitive parts.
- If you have successfully cleaned all parts, put the cartridge back in and start a test print.
- If the printer still does not print black, the cartridge may be empty.
- Therefore, replace it with a new cartridge. Make sure that this is an original ink cartridge, since so-called foreign inks may not be accepted. We show you where you can buy printer cartridges cheap online.
