Install Epson printers - a guide
You hardly need to do anything to install your new Epson printer. Usually it is enough to connect the computer to the printer and the installation is almost completely independent.
Install printer - you have these options
The usual operating systems such as Windows, Linux or Mac OS already bring the drivers for the common printers. The following example refers to Windows 7, but is almost identical for the other versions of Windows.
- Connect your printer to your computer via USB cable and then switch on the printer. Usually, Windows automatically searches for a driver for the newly connected device.
- If Windows cannot find the driver, a message appears. You can choose whether Windows should search for the appropriate printer driver online or on the computer.
- If you have a driver CD, select the appropriate drive and insert the corresponding CD. Windows does the rest for you.
- Alternatively, you can insert the Epson driver CD right at the start and follow the individual steps.
- If you do not have a driver CD, you can get the latest printer driver for your printer from Epson.
- You can of course install the Epson printer manually under Windows. To do this, open the "Control Panel" and then under "Hardware and Sound" select the option "Show devices and printers". Finally, click on "Add printer".
