Epson: Fix paper jam in the printer - how it works
If the paper has been fed skewed in your Epson printer, it can quickly lead to an annoying paper jam. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Clear the paper jam in the Epson printer
First, take a look at the display of your Epson printer. If you are offered the option to cancel printing here, confirm the process.
- Now open the printer as you do when changing the cartridges. With many models, all you have to do is fold up the top of the printer.
- You can usually already see the paper jam inside the Epson printer. When you get to the paper, try to pull it out slowly and as straight as possible.
- If this does not work as desired, you will find an additional flap in the rear, inner area of the printer. Here you get direct access to the critical area.
- There is also a flap on the back of some Epson printers. Here you can also access the paper that is causing the paper jam. Pull it out slowly.
- When you have completely removed the paper from the printer, close all doors. The printer now independently checks whether everything is OK and shows you a corresponding message.
Epson printers: paper jam maintenance
- If the paper in the printer has not broken down into numerous individual parts, there should be no major problems with the printer afterwards. Nevertheless, print any page for testing.
- If stripes or incorrect letters can be seen here, the printer must be cleaned. To do this, start the maintenance program on the PC using the associated software or directly on the display of the printer.
