Equalizer for Spotify (Android, iOS, Windows and Mac)
In this practical tip, we will show you how to set and use an equalizer for Spotify on different operating systems.
Spotify: Free equalizer app for Android
- If you are looking for an equalizer for the Spotify app on your Android smartphone, the "Equalizer" is recommended.
- The application is completely free and leaves nothing to be desired. If you are not very familiar with the topic, you can try one of the numerous presets and apply them permanently.
- You can also create your own listening patterns that are applied to Spotify. However, this only works on Android and not on iOS.
iPhone & iPad: Integrated Spotify equalizer for iOS
In an earlier version, the Spotify app for iOS had a built-in equalizer, but it was removed. In the meantime, however, the equalizer has made its comeback again.
- Simply download the latest version of the Spotify app. Go to the "Library" at the bottom right and tap the gear icon at the top right.
- Under the "Playback" category you will find the "Equalizer". Activate the option and select one of the presets. Alternatively, you can lend a hand.
- 22 different settings such as hip hop, acoustic or classical are pre-stored and each change the sound of your music.
Windows: Install Spotify Equalizer
You get a pleasant equalizer for Spotify with "Equalify".
- Download and install the program on Equalify.com.
- Now restart Spotify. You will now notice a new menu item "EQ" in the top bar.
- With a right click on "EQ" you switch on the equalizer. Then you can choose from various presets.
Spotify equalizer for Mac
You set up an equalizer for Spotify on a Mac computer using the "Boom" app.
- With the "Boom" app you set up not only an equalizer for Spotify, but also for other programs like "VLC" or Quick Time Videos.
- They have different presets that you can set. But you can also use a sound curve to modulate the sound as you wish.
- Unfortunately, the app now costs around 20 euros in the app store. It's not cheap, but it's an easy way to set up a Spotify equalizer for your Mac.
With Spotify you can also set your own plug-ins. For example, with "TuneWiki" you have access to the lyrics of your songs. You can find out how this works in our next practical tip.
