Activate replacement SIM card - you have to be aware of that
If you have ordered a replacement SIM card from your wireless service provider, you must activate it upon receipt. We will show you how this works and which points you have to consider.
Activate replacement SIM card: how it works
Most mobile phone providers offer you the new SIM card free of charge. The SIM card should reach you after two to five working days. Alternatively, you can also get the SIM card to take away directly from your provider's shop.
- Depending on the provider, you may have to activate the SIM card in a different way. In the rarest of cases you can use the card directly.
- To activate, you must either call the service hotline or visit a specific website. You can find out which way is the right one in the letter that comes with the new SIM card.
- However, all providers have one thing in common: you don't have to deactivate your old SIM card. The mobile operator does that himself.
- In the next paragraph you will find instructions on how to activate replacement SIM cards from the most popular providers.
