Ash flowering: information about pollen and allergy
If you suffer from a pollen allergy, the symptoms will likely be particularly severe during the flowering of the ash. You can find out why in this health tip.
Ash blossoming - wedding of pollen allergy
Spring is not a good time for people with pollen allergies.
- Those who suffer from hay fever are usually also allergic to ash pollen. The pollen of this tree has a similar allergy potential as for example birch pollen.
- The main flowering period of the ash is between March and May. However, the first pollen flies from mid-February and ash trees can also bloom until the end of June.
- Since the ash blossoms with the birch and many pollen allergy sufferers also react to birch pollen, the period between March and May is particularly uncomfortable for hay fever sufferers.
- Protection against pollen, at least indoors, is provided by pollen grilles for windows. This way you can at least ventilate without the ash pollen getting into the apartment.
- The pollen count is not always the same everywhere. Our endangered areas are shown on our pollen map.
- Incidentally, the ash tree is one of the olive trees. If you are allergic to ash pollen, the pollen can also cause other hay fever symptoms.
- You should be aware of this if, for example, you are planning a vacation in a Mediterranean region where olive trees grow.
