Excel: Count the number of different values
In this practical tip, we explain how to count the number of different values in Excel.
Excel: Count the number of different values using a formula
You need a special formula to count the number of different values in a range in Excel:
- Click a cell in your Excel file where you want to place the result.
- At the top of the bar under "fx", enter the formula "= SUM (IF (FREQUENCY (D5: E13; D5: E13)> 0; 1))" without quotes and press [Enter].
- You can adapt the data within the formula to your document as required. So replace "D5" with the first cell of your selection and "E13" with the last.
