Excel: Switch off auto correction
If you don't like the auto-correction in Excel, you can turn it off. We'll show you how.
Step 1: Call up auto correction settings in Office
- If you are using Office 2013, click on the "File" tab at the top and then select the "Options" item. Now you can select the "AutoCorrect Options" option under "Document Review".
- Office 2010 users also click the File tab, and then click Word Options. Then click on "Document Review" and finally on "AutoCorrect".
- If you are using Office 2003, click the "Tools" button in the menu and then select the "AutoCorrect Options".
Step 2: Deactivate Excel auto correction
- After you have switched to the settings, you will find all the auto correction settings there. To turn them off, simply remove all the hooks.
- Confirm your settings by clicking "OK".
