Convert Excel documents to PDFs: how it works
If you want to convert your Excel document into PDFs, you can do this both with Excel itself and via an external service. We'll show you how it's done.
Save Excel document as PDF
- Open the Excel document and in Excel 2013, 2010 and 2003 click on "File" in the top left corner of the screen and then on "Save As". In Excel 2007 you will find the "Office" button instead of the "File" option.
- If necessary, select a storage location and change the name of the file. This is necessary so that the Excel spreadsheet is not overwritten. So you end up with both file formats. For example, append the letters "PDF" to the file name.
- Now select the file type under the file name. Here you will find the "PDF" at the bottom of the list.
- If you then click the "Save" button, the Excel file is converted into a PDF document.
Convert Excel document to PDF - without Excel
If you do not have Excel or the program is not currently available, you can also convert the file online.
- Open the ExcelToPdfOnline.com website.
- First of all, set at the top that you want to convert from Excel to PDF.
- Then click the "Choose file" button, locate the file on your computer and click "Open".
- Now enter your email address and uncheck the box so that you do not receive any further emails from this provider.
- When you click the "Convert" button, the file is uploaded, converted and sent to you. This takes 10 to 60 seconds, depending on the size of the file. The finished PDF can now be found in your inbox.
