Delete Excel formatting - so it'll work
You can delete formatting in Excel as quickly as it was created. We show how this works in this practical tip.
Excel: Remove cell formatting
- If you only want to delete the formatting from individual cells in your Excel spreadsheet, first mark it with the mouse.
- Then, in Excel, click the Start tab> Conditional Formatting.
- Move the mouse pointer over "delete rules". This opens up further options.
- Click here on your desired delete operation, for example "delete rules in selected cells".
- The formatting is then removed, but the cell can still be reformatted.
These instructions refer to Microsoft Excel 2010 under Windows 8.1. This practical tip shows you how to copy conditional formatting to another cell in Excel.
