Excel: transfer formulas - how it works
To avoid having to re-enter every formula, you can have the formulas transferred in Excel with just a few clicks or even automatically. How exactly - we explain here.
How to transfer formulas automatically
If you want to apply the same formula to a column, you can do so using Excel's auto-fill feature:
- First enter the formula in the top line.
- If you now move the mouse over the small, black dot in the lower right corner, you will find a "plus" there. Click on this and drag the marker frame down with the mouse (see picture).
- Now you have automatically transferred the formula to the other lines.
Manual formula transfer
You can also easily transfer individual formulas - this is particularly suitable for longer formulas:
- Right-click on the cell with the formula and select "Copy" (Ctrl + C)
- You can now transfer the formulas to the target cell with "Paste" (Ctrl + V).
