Define and use names in Excel - so it'll work
- Click the cell whose name you want to define.
- At the top left of the program you can see the current name of the cell, for example A1.
- Click in the field and enter the desired name. Save with [Enter].
- Alternatively, you can also use "Formulas"> "Define names".
- For example, if you named a cell "VAT" and another "value", you can use the formula "= SUM (value; VAT)".
- A name can be up to 255 characters long, contain letters, numbers, underscore and period, and begin with letters or an underscore.
- Hyphens and spaces are not possible. In addition, the names must not look like cell references (e.g. A5, C23).
