Calculate sine, cosine and tangent in Excel
Excel calculates angles like sine, cosine and tangent by default not in degrees, but in radians. The angle 180 degrees corresponds to the number pi in radians. To enter the angles in degrees, you have to use an additional formula:
- With the function "= CURVED DIMENSION (30)" you can convert the angle 30 ° to the radian measure.
- You can calculate the sine of 30 ° using the formula "= SIN (BOGENMASS (30))".
- You can calculate the cosine and tangent accordingly using the functions "= COS (ARC DIMENSION (angle))" or "= TAN (ARC DIMENSION (angle))".
