Excel: move columns
If you want to move an entire column in Excel, you can do this by cutting and pasting. We'll show you how to do this.
Move columns in Excel - Here's how
- At the top, click the letter that denotes the column you want to move so that the entire column is highlighted.
- Now cut out the column with the key combination [Ctrl] + [X].
- Now click in the top cell of the column in which you want to move the values and insert them with [Ctrl] + [V].
- You can also copy several columns at once by clicking on the desired columns while holding down the [Ctrl] key. Then cut out the content and paste it back into the cell in which the value should be at the top left.
Instead of just moving the columns, you can swap them. You can read how to do this in the next article.
