Excel: rotate table

Exchanging columns and rows of a table - i.e. rotating the table - is quickly done in Excel. Incidentally, in mathematics this operation is called transpose and, strictly speaking, is a reflection of the table on its main diagonal. But don't worry - the MS Office program Excel does the work for you.
Transpose a table in Excel
- In the first step, copy the table that is to be rotated. Hold down the left mouse button and select all cells in the table and then type CTRL + C.
- Then click in any cell on your Excel worksheet - at this point the copied table will be pasted in its "rotated" form. The quickest way to do this is via the context menu, which you can open by clicking the right mouse button.
- In this menu you will find an icon under "Insert options" that symbolizes the rotation of the table (see screenshot). If you move the mouse over this icon, the function name "Transpose" is displayed and you can already see a preview of the rotated table. Click on the icon to complete the action.
