How to set a password for your Excel spreadsheet on Windows
In the following we explain the procedure for protecting your Excel spreadsheets. We explain the steps under Windows as well as for macOS.
- For macOS: Open the desired Excel file and click on "File" in the top left.
- Select "Save As" and the desired folder in which you want to save the file.
- Click on "Options ..." under the file format and enter the password for opening and / or editing the file. Then click on "OK" and enter the passwords again.
- Windows: If you want to protect your Excel spreadsheet under Windows, the last step changes. Under the file format, click "More Options".
- Then go to "Tools" and then to "General Options". Now you can set your password for the table here.
