- Open the Excel document in which you want to display the unprotected cells. Then select the area in which you want to display the unprotected cells.

- A window opens with the name "New Formatting Rule". Select the rule type "Use formula to determine cells to format".
- Under "Format values for which this formula is true:" enter the formula = CELL ("Protection"; A1) = 0. Then click "Format ..." and select a color in which unprotected cells are to be displayed.
- Click "OK" to apply the settings. Shortly afterwards, the unprotected cells will be displayed.
