Sometimes you may have to copy values from a cell in Excel without copying the formula behind them. We show you here what steps are necessary.

Copying the values is very easy in all Excel program versions from 2007:
- Select the desired cell and copy the content.
- Click in the target area and now the right mouse button.
- In the context menu, click on "Paste Special".
- Now a submenu appears. Under "Insert values" select the first option "Values".
- Alternatively, use the key combination "CTRL" + "Alt" + "V" for this step.
- Select "Values" from the pop-up.
- Now the value from the clipboard is pasted into the selected area without a formula.
