In this practical tip, we present five good programs that you can use to change the Exif data of images.
1. Exifer: Change Exif data
- Exifer has been around for a few years, but is still suitable for the convenient processing of Exif data.
- The tool can be used, among other things, to read and edit the zoom factor, date, time, exposure and aperture as well as around 100 other items of information.

2. Exif Date Changer
- The Exif Date Changer focuses on changing the recording date.
- You can also add the recording time to photos that do not have Exif data, such as scanned documents.
- The changes can be applied to a single image or an entire folder.

3. ExifTool
- With the ExifTool, not only Exif but also GPS, IPCT, XMP and JFIF data can be edited.
- The tool is used from the command line, which can be quite complicated, especially for beginners. If you are looking for a graphical interface, you can optionally download it.

4. Geosetter
- The GeoSetter program is also based on the ExifTool. This allows Exif data to be adjusted and coordinates to be displayed in the integrated Google Maps map.

5. PhotoMe
- With PhotoMe you can read out and edit IPTC-NAA tags as well as ICC profile data in addition to Exif.
