Connect hard drive to Sky Receiver
Sky naturally wants the external hard drives from Sky to be used to record films. Unfortunately, they are not cheap. There is the 320 GB version, with 160 GB of storage space available and which costs around 60 euros and the new 2-terabyte version, which is available from 130 euros. Comparable hard drives from other providers are significantly cheaper. Unfortunately, the Sky Receiver does not accept them.
There are several instructions on the Internet for connecting other hard drives. Unfortunately, these do not work in most cases. The procedure also varies for different hard drives. However, you can try to format your hard disk to FAT32 and then connect it to the receiver via USB.
How to connect the Sky external hard drive
- Connect the SATA and USB cables to the receiver. The cables are each the same color as the connector in which they must be inserted.
- Restart the receiver. The setup should now work step by step with no problems.
