External hard drive: wrong parameter - you can do that
If an incorrect parameter of your external hard drive is displayed in Explorer, the problem can usually be quickly remedied. We show you how to do this in this practical tip.
Wrong parameter for external hard drive - how to fix the error
- First go to "Control Panel"> "Administrative Tools" and "Computer Management".
- Then click on "Disk Management" on the left and wait for the list to be created.
- Then right-click on the entry of the external hard drive.
- Select the "Change drive letter and paths" option from the context menu.
- In the next window, mark the specified letter and select "Change".
- Search for a letter from the list that is not yet used by other devices and save with "OK".
