Driver's license not included: This threatens to be checked
If you do not have your driver's license with you at a traffic control, you will quickly feel the resentment of the officials. You can find out what the consequences are in this practical tip.
Driving license not included - will be punished
- In a hurry or under stress, you like to leave your wallet at home. The problem: the driver's license is usually in it. Now you can not only forget about shopping, but also no longer identify yourself. This is particularly annoying in a police check.
- But how big is the problem really? You have passed the driver's license test and have a driving license. But even if you are not drunk and sitting at the wheel with full attention span - the rag must be presented. So it says in the driving license regulation:
- "The driver's license must be carried when driving a motor vehicle and must be handed over to the responsible persons for examination upon request."
- This means that you have to have your driver's license with you every time you drive. A mere copy of the good piece is not enough.
- Should the accident happen to you, you do not have to be afraid. Driving without a license is not a crime, it is just an administrative offense. Such an offense is listed in the catalog of fines at 10 euros. That is quite manageable.
Driving without a license - tough penalties
- Can't show a driver's license - because you never got one? This is not a trivial offense and certainly not an administrative offense, but a serious offense.
- In order to receive the rag and the accompanying driver's license, every driver must first successfully pass a driving test. This includes the correct handling of the vehicle as well as the applicable traffic regulations.
- Anyone who has not taken this test is assumed to be unfamiliar with either the car or the traffic. This ignorance can endanger other people. That is why driving without a license is classified as a "serious and dangerous violation".
- The penalties are correspondingly high: wait up to 6 months in prison or a fine of up to 180 daily rates.
