This is how you can see that your Facebook account has been hacked
Suddenly posts like "If you want to lose weight you should try XXX drops" appear on your Facebook page. or similar spam that you are guaranteed not to have written? Possible reasons for this are:
- Are you sure that you have not disclosed your Facebook access data to anyone? Otherwise you should first clarify whether someone has joked.
- Have you used Facebook on a public PC lately? You shouldn't forget to log off from someone else's computer. Read here how you can subsequently log out of Facebook. You must also change your password afterwards.
- If someone has found out your access data, they can create posts and view your data. If you can still log in, your email address has not yet been changed. Act quickly and follow our tips in the next paragraph.
- Has your account been hacked and you can no longer log in to Facebook? Continue with the instructions in the 3rd and 4th paragraph. You may need to contact Facebook to restore your account access.
You can still log in to your Facebook account
- Log in to your Facebook account.
- Click on this Facebook link to secure your account and change the password. Simply follow the instructions.
- Then click on the small arrow pointing downwards in the top right corner. Then open the settings.
- Check under "General"> "Contact" whether only your own or a new, foreign email address is linked to your account. If so, you must delete them. The same applies to registered cell phone numbers.
- Edit your Facebook security settings. To do this, switch to the "Security" menu in the settings. For example, you can be informed by email when someone else logs into your account.
- In addition, messages and likes ordered can be checked here. It also happens that sometimes permissions are accidentally accepted and clicked.
You do not have access to your Facebook account
- First check whether you can still log in to your email account that is connected to Facebook and whether you have received a message about a password change there. This contains a link to change your login again.
- To change your password, go to the Facebook login page. There is the option "Forgot password?".
- If you no longer have access to your email address, follow the instructions as if you had forgotten your password. You will then have to provide your account name and that of a friend.
If the first steps don't work: Contact Facebook
If all else fails, there is still a process that Facebook has created to save hacked accounts. Follow the instructions on facebook.com/hacked. You can also log in there with a former password.
