Every Facebook user can request their collected data from the social network. In this guide, we show you how to get your data.
Request Facebook data - this is how you proceed
- In Facebook, click on the small arrow at the top right of the screen and select "Settings".
- Under "General account settings" you will find the "Download a copy of your Facebook data" item at the bottom, which you must click to request your data.
- In the next step click on "Build my archive" and enter your Facebook password.
- The archive is then created. This process may take some time - you will be informed by email as soon as it is complete. You will then find the "Download archive" button at the same place, which you can use to save the data you have collected as a ZIP file on your PC.
If you value privacy, you can block your wall for certain Facebook contacts. You can read more about this in this practical tip.
