Facebook: Delete entire pinboard
If you want to delete your entire Facebook wall, it can take a little longer for many posts. We'll show you the options.
The tedious way: manually delete the entire Facebook wall
On Facebook you will not find an option to delete the entire pin board and all of its entries with one action. Unfortunately, you have to remove each post individually here:
- Open the Facebook website and select your own profile above.
- Scroll down to the first post and click on the small arrow in the top right.
- Select the "Delete" option and confirm the process.
- Note: For other people's posts, you can either remove your mark or hide the post from your wall. You can only delete posts that appear exclusively on your wall.
Update: Delete entire Facebook wall with a macro
- Until recently, you could use the free "iMacros" tool to delete the entire Facebook wall. With a lot of contributions this was the much easier way.
- However, Facebook has meanwhile changed the structure of its website. It is therefore no longer possible to use the following instructions. The only way remains the one described above.
Instructions: Delete Facebook wall with iMacros
You need the Firefox browser and the iMacros extension to carry out the following instructions. Then you have to install the add-on manually.
- Start Firefox and then the plug-in. This opens with a click on the F8 key. Otherwise, you can find it in Firefox's Add-on Manager. Then open your wall on Facebook.
- You start the recording of the macro by clicking on the "Rec" tab and then on "Record" (bottom left in the Firefox window).
- Now scroll to the end of your Facebook wall and start deleting one entry after the other manually. Try to enter all types of entries (e.g. contributions from friends, own posts and links).
- If you have carried out as many use cases as possible, click on "Stop" in the plug-in menu to stop the recording.
- Now select the macro you just saved on the left, eg "# Current.iim", click on "Play" and then on "Play".
- If everything works smoothly, enter a value of 100 or 200 under "Repeat macro" as "Max". Then click on "Play (Loop)" to let the macro run through and thus (if possible) automatically delete the entire Facebook wall.
