Remove Facebook marker - so it'll work
You may also want to remove a well-intentioned marker on a Facebook post. In this point, Facebook is better than its reputation - because in the social network you can protect your privacy with a few settings.
How to remove tags on Facebook
In your Facebook chronicle or under »Photos«> »Photos of you« you will find pictures on which you have been marked. How to deal with unwanted markings:
- Clicking on the picture opens the photo in single view. Various tabs are visible at the bottom of the screen; there go to "Options". Alternatively, click on the pencil icon in the top right corner of the photo.
- In the pop-up menu that is now visible, activate »Report / remove marking«.
- In a new window you will be asked: "What should happen?" Check "I want to remove my marking" and confirm the action by clicking on "Remove marking".
- The easiest way to delete markings from several photos is to use the activity log. You can do this on the start page of your account using the gear icon »Settings«.
- In the left navigation bar of the activity log, go to »Photos«> »Photos of you«. Here you can mark several photos directly. At the top of the page, click on "Report / Remove Flag" and confirm in the next dialog box with "Remove Flag from Photos".
If you want to have control over which photos you are tagged on, you have to select the appropriate privacy settings under "Chronicle and tagging settings". What you should consider here and with other critical privacy settings can be read in the practical tip "Data protection on Facebook - the best 3 tips".
