• Unfortunately, you cannot change the background in Facebook Messenger at the moment. A suitable function is not available under iOS or Android.
• Since Facebook has recently increased the focus on Messenger, it is undergoing intensive development. The competition messenger WhatsApp already has such a function. Such a feature could therefore soon be possible in Messenger.
