This guide explains how to remove yourself from Facebook Graph Search.
Facebook Graph Search: How to remove
Facebook Graph Search is designed to help connect people with the same interests. To do this, Facebook uses all content that you have declared "public". You cannot therefore remove yourself directly from the graph search. However, we will tell you how you will still not be found.
- All content that you share should not be shared publicly, but only for friends or for friends of friends. Simply click on the button next to "Post" in front of the post and select the appropriate setting.
- Images, interests and favorite films can also be visible to the public. To check this, click the lock icon in the top right corner and select "Who can see my content?".
- Here you set who your posts should be visible to. You can also determine who can find your content in this area.
- By clicking on "View from" you can also see how others see your profile. All content that is not visible is not used by Facebook Graph Search.
- A removal from the graph search is not possible directly. Rather, you should continue to pay attention to your privacy settings and only post everything for friends if you do not want to be included in the graph search.
More tips to avoid appearing in the graph search
- Review the photos that you've shared or where you've been tagged. You then have the option to report or remove markings. However, photos from which the marking has been removed can still be viewed by Facebook users.
- Review and change placemarks in the "Posts where you've been tagged" section. Go to the activity log there
Espionage via graph search
But be careful. With the graph search function it is possible to "spy on" your profile. This allows you to see which pages you are visiting and which photos or videos you are viewing.
- Pay attention to your privacy. Check the settings regularly.
- Don't reveal too much information about yourself on Facebook.
- Pay attention to which pages you visit and which pictures you look at.
