Exposing fake photos - tips and tools
There are several clues to exposing a fake photo. We'll tell you exactly what to look for and how to check the pictures online.
Exposing fake photos - tips and tools
To examine a photo for a fake, you only need the zoom function of a photo program or the standard Windows photo display. However, professional fakes are usually difficult to recognize even for experienced professionals. You have to pay attention to this:
- Transitions: If you zoom in on certain parts of the image, you will often find easy transitions. This can be seen on the neck, for example, when a head is placed on another body.
- Irregularities: Certain irregularities in terms of color and structure are also the result of processing.
- Blur: If parts of the image are blurry or strangely pixelated, this usually indicates post-processing. The edges of transitions are mostly blurred, which causes the blurring.
- Color differences: Even abnormalities in the color are an indication. If the color in one area changes to a completely different tone, something has usually been changed here.
- Shadows: If there are shadows, pay close attention. Changes to objects that cast a shadow are extremely complicated.
