Fallout 4 limits the number of frames in order not to leave older computers. In many cases, however, this limitation is not necessary and only causes lags and jerks. You can therefore safely switch off the function:
- To do this, open the installation directory of Fallout 4 by right-clicking on the game's exe file in the Windows Start menu and selecting "Open file path".
- In the Explorer window, search for the "Fallout4Prefs.ini" file and open it in a text editor.
- Press the key combination [Ctrl] + [F] and enter the command "iPresentinterval".
- When the text is found in the document, change the numerical value from "1" to "0".
- Save the file and then restart Fallout 4.
