Fallout 4 doesn't start - it could be because of it
Fallout 4 is becoming increasingly popular. If the game doesn't start, you can often quickly fix this problem yourself. You can find all the information in this practical tip.
Fallout 4 doesn't start - you can do that
The following tips can help you to get Fallout 4 back into trouble quickly:
- In order for the game to work properly on your PC, you must meet the Fallout 4 system requirements.
- If this is the case, but the game still does not start, you should make sure that you have installed the latest driver for your graphics card.
- To check this, you can either search for available updates in Windows Update or switch to the manufacturer's website of your graphics card.
- You also need the latest version of Microsoft DirectX.
- Sometimes starting the game as an administrator can help. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator".
- Or you can start Fallout in windowed mode. To do this, you must first switch to the directory of the game (for Steam: Programs> Steam> steamapps> common> Fallout 4; otherwise MyGames in the user directory). Open the "Fallout4Prefs.ini" and change the value at "bMaximizeWindow" to "0".
- In the Steam library, you can right click on the game and select "Properties". There you have the possibility to "check the game files for errors".
- If these tips don't help, you should try reinstalling the game. After uninstalling, delete the respective directory by hand so that incorrect data no longer has any influence after the new installation.
