Far Cry 4 jerky: you can do that
If Far Cry 4 jerks constantly or even occasionally, it is extremely annoying. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Far Cry 4 jerky: This can help
- The performance problems continue to exist months after the release of Far Cry 4. Even if it has only helped a few players so far: Always install the latest patch.
- By default, Windows triggers a timer interrupt every 15.6 milliseconds. This time determines the span between two executable tasks. Even if you have a high frame rate, the wrong timer value makes the game jerky.
- With tools like Timer Resolution, you can change the value from 15.6 to 1.0. However, this only helps under Windows 7. In Windows 8 and 8.1, the timer value is automatically adjusted.
Far Cry 4 jerky - adjust settings
- Open the Far Cry 4 file path in Explorer and look for the "GamerProfile.xml" file.
- Right-click on the file and select the "Editor" under "Open with".
- Search for the "DisableLoadingMip0" entry and set the value to "1". Select a "3" for the value "GPUMaxBufferedFrames" and a "0" for "AlphaToCoverage".
- Then save and close the file. Further possibly helpful instructions can be found here and here in the Steam community.
