Far Cry Primal: The 5 best weapons - an overview
In Far Cry Primal you have access to all sorts of weapons from the Stone Age. You can find the best of these in this practical tip. In addition to clubs and bows, you also access the animal world in battle.
Far Cry Primal: Two-handed club as the best melee weapon
When confronting the Izila or Udams, the two-handed club is usually the best choice.
- The two-handed club is only suitable for close combat in open combat. If you proceed quietly, you should never grab the club, but take a takedown with [F].
- When you have unlocked the two-handed club, you should always prefer it to the normal club. The damage plus makes up for the loss in the stroke frequency.
- The club can also be thrown at a very short distance, but that rarely makes sense.
Far Cry Primal: Maximum range with the longbow
The longbow is particularly effective over long distances because it has the best reach.
- The longbow can be made once like any other weapon in the manufacturing menu.
- It is unlocked by the hunter "Jayma" and can then be crafted in the manufacturing menu.
- From now on, always use the longbow instead of the normal bow because it does more damage and has a longer range.
- The longbow is particularly suitable for silently killing enemies in a camp. Make sure to aim at the head. For most opponents, a hit in the chest is not enough for immediate death, which is important in stealth operations.
- If you are not short of raw materials, you can also use the double longbow instead of the longbow. It always shoots two arrows and kills most opponents twice as fast. Accordingly, the supply of arrows is quickly running out.
Far Cry Primal: Great damage at short to medium range with the spear
The spear is more suitable as a projectile than as a melee weapon.
- You have the spear right from the start, for example in the tutorial mission.
- The spear is particularly suitable as a weapon at short to medium range because it does not have a very good range.
- In return, it kills most human opponents immediately if you hit them on the upper body or head.
- The spear is also particularly suitable for fighting animals. With a bow and arrow, a kill usually takes far too long and the spear kills most animals after two hits.
- The spear is only suitable as a melee weapon when you are fighting while riding. With the spear you need less distance to your opponent in close combat than with a club.
Far Cry Primal: bombs and grenades for groups
Grenades and bombs are especially helpful when there are many enemies in one place.
- There are rage grenades to rage enemies. These then attack other people.
- Firebombs shatter on impact and set enemies and animals alight.
- Spiked bombs are bags full of bees and are well suited to kill almost every enemy. The firebomb is more effective against groups.
- Grenades are particularly useful if they have not yet been discovered. If opponents are after you, the club is a better choice.
- Assuming the corresponding skill "Owl: weapon dropping", the owl can also throw grenades from the air.
- Use this to take out enemies while you are in a safe hiding place.
- Since an owl can have three grenades of any kind with you on a flight, you can theoretically take out an entire camp with the owl.
Far Cry Primal: predators as the most powerful weapon
The most powerful weapon in Far Cry Primal are the tame predators.
- In the first few hours of the game, you play the first Beast Master mission, in which you unlock the owl and then learn how to tame.
- First you tame the white wolf in the mission. This is already the strongest animal of the first rank.
- If you invest skill points, you can tame more animals.
- With comparatively little effort, you can quickly have dangerous animals with you, such as the cave lions.
- Then look for a saber-toothed tiger. You can usually find one in the northern snow region. Try to tame it to have one of the most powerful companions.
- The only more powerful predator is the blood-saber-toothed tiger, which you can tame in a mission later in the game.
- You can assign a companion a target with [right mouse button] + [G] and call him with [Alt].
- Use [B] to access the beast menu. Here you can revive companions who have died.
The next practical tip will tell you whether you can play in the Coop in Far Cry Primal.
