Repair missing DDL files
If you get the error message "DLL could not be found.", You can also repair the missing DDL files yourself. A DLL problem usually arises when a library (DLL = Dynamic Link Library) is overwritten or completely removed. The program can then no longer be executed or keeps hanging up at certain points.
Find and add missing DDL files
The error message is the key for you to fix the problem. It is therefore best to write down the name of the DLL (it is in the error description).
- If you have the CD / DVD on which the program is located, look for the DLL in it. If you no longer have the discs, enter the name in a search engine. Then download the DLL.
- Attention: beware of internet rip-offs! Precisely because DLLs are searched so often, there are dubious websites that offer you exactly the DLL you are looking for. For this you should register or download an additional tool. Do not do that! No additional program is required to load a DLL that is only a few KB in size, and nobody needs to know who you are and where you live.
- Just keep searching the net until you get the DLL for download. Then either move the file to the program directory or to the »C: \ Windows \ System32« folder.
- Start the problematic program again. If the error persists, use the step in the following section.
Repair DDL files
- You may have to register the DLL before you can use Windows. To do this, click on "Start" and enter the word "Run" in "Search programs and files". Or alternatively press the key combination [Win] + [R].
- Start "Run" and enter the command "regsvr32 / i" in "Open:". By pressing »Enter« the file is registered in your operating system and can be used. If you now switch on the program, it should run without errors.
